# What happens when a customer replies STOP?

They are opted out of marketing: marketing templates and marketing Broadcasts no longer go to them. Your replies and non-marketing templates still do. On your own number they also get one automatic message saying so, and that they can reply START to get offers again; it shows in the conversation as a System message. The conversation says Opted out, and Opted out — in the menu under your initials, and a tab on the Broadcast page — lists everyone who has; every role that can read conversations can see it. STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, OPT OUT, STOP PROMOTIONS and STOP ALL count when they are the whole message — a sentence that only contains the word changes nothing.
