# Can a new customer get an automatic welcome?

Yes. Switch on Settings → Greeting message and write it: it is sent automatically, from your number, the first time a customer ever messages your number, and again when they write after 14 days with no messages either way (you can change the days, or choose only the first time). It shows in the conversation as Automatic greeting, and the conversation still waits for one of your team to answer. Nobody who has opted out gets it.
