# How do I react to a customer’s message?

On a computer, hover a message from the customer and click the grey smiley beside it; on a phone or tablet, tap the message and then the smiley, or long-press the message. Pick 👍 ❤️ 😂 😮 😢 🙏 right there, or + for more. Picking a different emoji replaces your reaction, and picking the same one again takes it back — WhatsApp allows one reaction from your business per message. You can react only to the customer’s own messages, only while the 24-hour window is open, and only to messages from the last 30 days; otherwise the smiley is dimmed and says why. It needs the permission to reply to customers.
