What is a message template?
A message you write once and send many times, with blanks for the parts that change — “Hello {{1}}, your appointment is on {{2}} at {{3}}.” WhatsApp requires one whenever a business writes first or after 24 hours, and Meta checks each one before it can be used so that people are not sent spam.
